Andres Rodriguez, the author of Night Song (Tia Chucha Press), Book of the Heart (Lindisfarne Press), and Portal of Dreams (Woodley Press), resides and works in Kansas City. His poetry has been featured in various publications such as Bilingual Review, Cortland Review, Harvard Review, Hubbub, New York Quarterly, Valparaiso Poetry Review, as well as in anthologies like Currents from the Dancing River (Harcourt Brace) and Wild Song (University of Georgia Press). In 2007, he was recognized with Poets & Writers’ Maureen Egan Award for Poetry.

It pained me to confront the everyday radiance, the nonchalant splendor of daytime, as I inevitably perceive the finality in all things, no matter how strenuously I strive to capture the fleeting beauty. Despite this, I persist in attempting to embrace what lies before me.
